Well shocked may be over stated, but what gets me is I put in for a mule doe in my WMU, [which we have a really healthy population]... that is a stone throw from the CWD zones and one has to wait two or three years just for a doe...where just across the road they were culled by the hundreds or into the thousands...
Oh well, It is what it is, and I have have lots of oppurtunitys in Alberta and this will just make me focus more on a nice Elk and a big Mulie buck

LOL so everyone who got something posts on the other thread (4 pages so far), and the "losers" post here.
I'm just kidding guys. Sorry you got nothing. Your turn will come. Plenty of people do get drawn. I even got drawn for turkey. Pumped about that, but it took a lot of years. Good luck with your general tags.

have to agree with you there. we got the draws we wanted, but it sure makes a difference knowing you have the oppurtunity to go for game that others can only hope for in a lottery.
really looking foreward to harvesting my first big game with a bow.

Yup...sometimes the draw has no mercy...
One of my shooters ..small family...wife ,two sons, and father...
3 prized bull Elk draws...one on PRI 5 that took me PRI 9 to get mine [got it bow anyway]
2 mule Bucks
1 moose
He is shocked also...since they were all different PRI's ...he was complaining about all the draws...I just mumbled ..."shut up thank you please" lol

Neil I think because the rifle season for antlered elk was shorten significantly, they may have allowed more tags to be handed out to keep the harvest at a similar level....I feel your pain, I had to use a P9 too....

Ya that and hard winter with lots of snow brought success rates wayyyy down during rifle...problem is with the 700 Cow elk tags and unknown more bull elk tags ...and one nice winter where guys can still drive around....its gonna be devestating...to say the least!!!

Wouldn't it be nice if, in situations where a 7 would get you drawn, they would just take the7 and leave you 2?
Not a suggestion on my part, just a "wouldn't it be nice". I'm sure there is a very good reason why they don't, so no need to even explain.

Not a bad idea. So if my buddies are headed to 511 moose hunting and I know a 3 priority is a guaranteed moose tag, why can't I apply 3 priority points to my draw application, (kinda like a bid). Makes more sense then using up the "9" priority I have built up on moose to hunt a less applied for area. Has this idea been discussed before?

ELk
I got 2 Elk one for me and one for my son. Stoked for the archery season. We found this place years back and finally got drawn for it. I can smell the rut coming

I agree...but the cows will be the only legal animals after November 30. There seems to be a lot of them.

It can't work like that unless you purchase the points, or essentially 999 until you think you have enough and then spend them at a chance, like a lottery ticket.
Essentially you are talking about an entirely different system instead of an option to build off of the current one. With the amount of money they have spent in the last decade getting this one to where it is, good luck.
