Default First Fish of The Year

With the honey do list almost done we finally got out fishing. We hit one of the small irragation lakes that is open for fishing. These lakes dont produce very many big fish, but they do produce good numbers. The one we were on is at the end of the line.Any fish that migrate there threw the system have no way out.The fish were very active chasing anything that moved. They really liked a jighead and yellow rubber tail. My partners were there 1 hour before I was and they landed a 5 1/2 lbs walleye.Since I had the camera no pitures. We caught 13 pike and the 1 walleye. The biggest pike was maybe 5 lbs.

These lakes are fun with a topwater bait. Nothing like a pike rising for a topwater bait.

Sounds like I gotta learn to spin some deer hair mice!

Be much obliged if you'd be willing to PM me with the location, but I understand if you don't wanna share
