Here's hoping for a cold spell to get the ice on there.

I was out there a couple days ago and there was between 10-14 inches. We drilled holes up and down the dam side and out to about 150-200 yards out and the ice was pretty consistent. The first inch or so was a little flaky when the auger hit it but the rest was awesome. By the time this cold snap is over I'm guessing about 16 inches will be out there. Gonna be a good year on the ice with this start!

Slow but seeing lots of everything, just can't get them to bite. Manage to pull a few pike and some good perch through the hole though.

Easy access still and about 20" ice today. Is anyone else finding the fishing really slow there?

I was out there on Thursday and we had at least 5 pike around us all day bumping the camera and one even took a run at it. They were very inquisitive and every time we dropped a new hook down they would charge in and stare at it. We managed to get 2 though the ice and lost 2 on the way up. The 2 we bought up were just barely past keeper size so we tossed them back and told them to eat their vegetables and grow up to be big and strong.

We even saw a rather decent school of perch (I'm guessing around 30-40) swim buy a couple of times through out the day. The perch didn't look to be that big though. Maybe 4-6 inches but it was pretty awesome to watch them meander by the camera.

We were set up in about 9-11 feet of water.

I'm hoping to find some whitefish out there but every time I go out I see maybe 2 or 3. Not sure where to look for them either. Gonna be a lot of holes drilled by me searching for them this year that's for sure!

Last year when I was working down there at the hospital we fished near the north end of the rocks on the new dam. (49.990450, -111.060990) We were fishing walleye but we saw a ton of whites. They were hanging out near the little underwater reef and seemed to be feeding on something mid way up the water column.

Sunday was a beautiful day to be out on the lake but once again found it extremely slow. In fact not one bite in 4 hrs of fishing. Three tip up's out and one line jigging, didn't even see much of anything traveling through on the flasher. Was in deeper water than usual, about 26'. There were quite a few guys out just wondering if anybody had any luck or was it about the same throughout the lake.
