Default Reminton 700

What is the main difference between the 700 models (DM, tatical etc). Been looking at spending around $700 on a new rifle. It will be either a 7mm, 30-06 or .308. Synthetic stock.

Trying to figure out which model would be better to buy. Shots will be out to 400m.

What is the upgrading on these rilfles. Can the barrels be changed out on all the models? Can the triggers be worked on, changed out?

If all that is different with these rifles is stocks. The barrels are the same, triggers the same then buying the cheaper one and upgrading it afterwards as needed may be the better way to go.

But I am looking for opinions and actual knowledge from people who use these rifles.

Thanks.

There are different action, barrel, and stock materials, different barrel lengths, shapes, and contours, different stocks, and different magazine systems.

Default .if you hunt on foot....

ok ill play...I hunt with a couple 700's and like them.
Of your choices I personally would choose the s/s 7mm in dm.
then add.
Tally one piece rings.
4 - 12 x scope or so
trigger job
dies and lots of 160 accubonds.

well thats a start, time at the range will tell.
have fun choosing your weapon. chain

WSS is currently listing a stainless 700 in 300winmag with detachable mag for $529 in the Canadian Access To Firearms. If they still have that rifle, it's a great deal if you were interested in a 300winmag. They also have the 700XHR in 7mmremmag listed for $679. The 700SPS Buskmasters is listed at $499 in 7mmremmag.
