I haven’t bin out yet either but from years past usually January can be pretty good, so I would assume if your in a good area they would be biting.

Default Pigeon Lake

Made it out this am and measured 19” of ice. There’s been enough snow to insulate it pretty well I’d say cause it’s only grown 4” since I was last out 10 days ago.

Anyone been on any of the lakes around Hinton? Curious of ice and snow depth. Passable in a minivan??

Any reports on Ice conditions at Snipe and on Slave Lake from Hilliards Bay? Should be decent with the cold weather but good to ask fellow fishermen that have been out.

Heading out Friday with my boys…no school just need to decide where to go.

A friend told me it was over 20” at Assineau. Can’t comment on Hilliard’s but I would imagine the same. Have fun!

Over 2' on Long yesterday. Fishing was meh.
Finally having some snow on the ice is a double edged sword: fish: don't get spooked as easily, but the camera is useless much earlier.

15” of solid ice at peppers lake. Lots of trout to be had.

Side note, lost a benchmade folder out there, thinking at the upper parking lot. Will reward its return.

does anyone have the measurements for the ice at Lac Ste Anne? I'm going fishing with my dad tomorrow, and I want to know if we can drive out or if we're hauling stuff out.

Measured 20” of clear black solid ice today on the South side of the main lake on Lac St Anne.
A few trucks on the lake including a couple shacks/trailers and diesel’s.

Sunday 28. Ice was 20''. The issue was that the snow that was covering the ice was melting and there was a lot of slush and/or water on the ice at the end of the day. Some people were still driving on the ice, but some portions were slippery.

Windswept black ice at the narrows. Trucks driving all over but the ice was the noisiest I’ve ever experienced.

The noise coupled with the refrozen jigsaw of thousands of pieces of clear ice got me wondering, if it just shatters like that when someone is out there how does one get back to shore 3kms away without tipping one of those floating chunks ???

Default Spray Lakes Feb 25

I used one of my days off for a short solo trip to Spray today near Sparrowhawk. There's about 1" or so of snow on the ice, it was about 22" where I drilled. Fishing was a bit slow despite marking a lot of fish.
