2022 bush buck
First off I would like to thank Smoky Buck for all his knowledge and helping me out this season with bush hunting tactics.
I have been hunting WT fairly hard this year, i got pretty discouraged in October when all my target bucks pretty much vanished from the cams. But for the past week I was seeing good bucks on camera again and the daylight movement was picking up. My main spot is a long cutline with plenty of long range opportunities. I sat at that spot with tripod and chair probably 50 hours this season, without much luck seeing shooters. This morning i decided to sit deep in the bush alongside that cutline since I have been picking up good action there on the cams. I sat for two hours calling without luck, when i came back to my spot this guy was staring at me at 200 yards. I of course did not have my tripod setup as i do 99% of the time, and I was winded after walking all this way, but i tried to stay calm and put him in the crosshairs, mind you that is not an easy task as my riffle is a Sako 75 HB which ways around 12 lbs, I let one fly, broke his front leg, he was clearly hurt so I walked back to him and finished him off. It has been quite the season, this is my biggest yet, for me, that is a buck of a lifetime!
