Default Leftovers

Well I pulled my game cameras today, last week prior to going down south for mule deer I topped up the mock scrapes with doe juice.
These fellas can rest and fatten up for next season.

I have a pretty good batch of leftovers. Once I kick this cold I have to start gathering stands and cams

If you it’s good by you 58thecat I will add pics of what I left behind after I gather my cams

I can tell you this I figured out after tagging my buck that the giant that passed by my buddies cam in pre season scouting hangs out near one of my stands during the rut

A few that made an appearance then vanished like ghosts.
One my son passed up.
Said next year…..I told him not if I see him first!

Ok I will add the three bucks from my wife’s spot. This is from an area my wife expressed interest in so I told her I won’t even look at the road and it’s all hers. She chose this pocket on the edge of a un huntable black spruce swamp. Because the cam only showed does for early season scouting she opted to leave it as a ground spot. Well we will be moving a ladder stand in there for next season

Here is the top 3 bucks that came out of the swamp looking for does come the rut. All of the mature bucks that showed up in this location are very dark in appearance

This guy with big split brows and a small drop that can’t be seen in these pics

Also this very solid 10pt

And this nice 9pt

She had encounters with all 3 but just was not comfortable with the shot opportunity. Something we will work on in the off season

I will add my leftovers in a few days

Ok I will add two more that I have nice pics of.

This droptine popped out 40yards away well I was checking this cam. Of course my tag was already filled.

Here is a buck I have history with. In 2021 I let him walk because he broke off one of his longest tines. He was bloodied and the ear was freshly torn. He may not be the biggest buck I know of but he fights like he is. I hope to get another opportunity at him. I know two locations he visits during the season.

So yesterday was out looking for a bull moose, found two cows and yup 50 yards away this fella standing broadside along a brushline

We had a 30 second encounter then he turned and walked off.....what a wide, tall, beauty.

Best way to get an opportunity on a huge buck is go out in the bush after you fill your tag. No stealth needed just blunder around making a racket

They know when you are tagged out
