Default Stevens Model 350 Problems

I just purchased the savage/Stevens Model 350 security/field combo 12 gauge and am not impressed. I shot 30 rounds out of it and it would not cycle very well, jammed and on occasion double loaded.

Does anyone have any suggestions or has encountered the same problems?
I am looking for a pump to take with me when bow hunting etc... as a little reassurance to make my wife feel more at ease and who are we kidding, make me more a ease as well.

Should I return this gun?
Any suggestions?

Thank you.

I had the same problem with mine. From what I have found it was a weak magazine spring. The mag tube is like 18" long and the spring is 22" not giving it enough oomph to seat the shell against the elevator. There is a bit of a lip near the end of the mag tube which it may catch on too. A hone and a stronger spring/ shim should do it. I shimmed the spring with a 2 3/4 shell just to see if it would make a difference and it cycled well. Maybe buy and cut a new spring or shim it and lose a shell in capacity.
