Default 2013 elk

Had a trip planed with a friend for thur down south for elk,on tues night he tells me he is unable to go. I have hunted elk on my own and shot a few its alot of work when your on your own with no quad, i had a bad accident and had to have my spine fuse together and some parts remove so im not the ball of fire i use to b lol. Wed afternoon im talking with my girlfriend and im thinking perhaps she might want to come out for the day, she has never hunted and didnt have much interest in it she hummed and hod then said ok. At first light we r on the ridge spotting we find 2 small groups, both have bulls but there a long way away. Im thinking this might be a little to much for her dont want to put her in a bad spot on the first trip, best thing was to hunt our way back to the truck so we head up and over the ridge to find a spot and sit and glass didnt take long and we see a five point coming our way and more behind him. We grab our gear and head down to get the wind right and set up, i start cow calling and he is screaming at us down in the willows i look up and i see a cow coming our way so i get a arrow ready and said to my girlfriend if they come get down in the willows. I look up again and her comes the bull trotting right at us he trots right by me about 3-4 yards away when my girlfriend see him coming at her she dives into the willows and the bull turns goes about 5 or 6 yards and stops right in front of me lol, im ready and i let the arrow fly he runs about 50 yards to the edge of the willows and stops, i cow call and he stands there i can see the arrow went right through him then he walks off we give him some time and after a short track job we find him. My girlfriend said that was the most amazing thing she has ever been apart of hearing him screaming at us seeing him so close it was almost scary, it was a long day getting him out i could of never of done it with out her she was amazing so needless to say i think i have given her the bug lol.
