Default 2013 elkhunt part 3

can't seem to locate an elk for Melanie, but she's got a keen eye for spotting wolves. One for the cowman and two for Melanie's dad.

Most impressive sir. You sure seem to have a knack for killing wolves.

Just curious, does most of your success come from howling or predator calling?

About equal. Luck is a big factor and I probably spend as much time as anybody hunting them.

Always look forward to opening your threads. It doesn't seem to matter if the title says Elk, Moose, Deer or Walking to the Shed, there are always pics of fresh dead wolves!

Hopefully one year you will have a hard time killing wolves because there just aren't so many around.

Holy smokes, you keep on whacking the wolves, every time I see one of your threads it's more of a question of how many wolves you got, they must be thick up where you are. What area of the province are you in?

FANTASTIC!

I read so many reports funded by the AB gov that state a wolf cull is REQUIRED to fullfill ungulate management goals.

However, every single report points out that a cull is not currently socially feasible, so those of us who frequent the woods are on our own.

Perhaps there might be someone on here who is skilled in wolf hunting that would take a few hours and write a wolf hunting 101 for those of us that would love to tag a few, but are inexperienced.

Congrats on the kills!

If I were to write an essay on how to hunt wolves it would sound like a field and stream article on how to hunt rabbits and that might get me banned. Get to know the wolf travel habits in your hunting area, spend lots of time hunting and success will come. Hopefully a winter wolf hunt becomes a yearly event for biggame hunters.
