Default 2013 hunting season pics

2013 season is over, I hope everyone had a great season and got to spend some time with family and friends. Our season was a long one starting in sept with bow hunting had some great chances at elk and deer but something always seemed to get in the way or timing was just off. It was our first season calling elk and we had some great chances and learnt a lot. Well November 1 came and it was time to pull out the rifles it got off to a great start with opening day I filled my cow elk draw and my brother got his cow moose. On the 3 day of our camp my best friend was able to take a nice 160 white tail. The next four days camp came with lots of sightings but nothing big enough to shoot. Fast forward to the 14th of November my dad brother and I got out for a day trip where my brother managed to take a nice white tail, he had limited time to hunt this year due to school. After that everyone had school and work commitments, so I was hunting on my own had a lot of great chances at nice deer but not what I was looking for. The last day of the season rolled around (nov 31) and we had a group of guys heading out. It started off with some tough walking due to all the snow but at about 9:30 I located a heard of elk with 3 legal bulls in it, not having a tag because of being drawn for a special cow draw I had to back out and call everyone. Everyone showed up around 11:00 and we organized a plan, as I had watched where the elk went and bedded for the day. At about 12:00 we had a slow walk/push organized. After about an hour of walking in knee deep snow everyone was in position and we started the walk after about twenty minutes I heard two shots, then about two minutes later I heard another two shots. When I got out I was fairly surprised to see two of the guys had each gotten a elk we were all extremely excited. We had never shot a bull in that area before and it was my dads first bull elk. That's the picture of the two of us the smiles tell the story we were both very excited. Just like to thank all the friends and family for a great season.(bobby b,sns2,gbo2) Hope everyone has a good Christmas and a great new year!
