Default Short Redfield scope tube?

Came across something new to me. I had purchased a redfield rampage second hand....took a zeiss off a Savage axis for a different rifle. Went to put the redfield on the Savage and there is no way to make the tube length match the bases/rings. Wondering if anyone has encountered this? Guessing could go to a cantilever, but it seems like a bunch of extra cost for an Axis and second hand scope. Thoughts?

You can purchase Leupold extended rings and bases or you could purchase a pic rail and pic bases to make it work.
