Wednesday Nov 1 edition of the SECD hearings on C21.
You can really see where some senators did not want to go.
NFA,CCFR,CSAAA represntatives this time, alng with Que hunting & fishing Federation, Yukon and Sask groups. No French interpreter, so, for me at least, that part was mostly a writeoff. Giltaca finally got a chance to speak, did pretty well too. Rick from NFA did well, the fella from Yukon did very well. Wes Winkel said his piece. Lot of stuff not covered due to time restrictions, Poly and etc got 5 min on Monday, these guys got 4 min. They meet again next Monday

Apparently they had a meeting with reps from the women's groups, Nathalie and Heidi, women's right lawyer, Islamic mosque rep, haven't watched it yet, other than noting who is there---and they get 5min ea.

Ended up watching it, the anti's all agree that the gov't isn't and needs to do a lot of social work funding and polce funding and training and legislation, the courts are too lenient, the gals from the women's shelters really laid that out well. But, make no mistake, they want all guns gone. Heidi and Nathalie hinted hard at it, whilst denying they'd interfere with hunters, then turned around and said native exemptions were sacred, but, they wanted cops to be proactive and didn't really care if they did it wrong. And accused gun owners & politicians of not giving a damn about the women and domestic abuse and downplaying it, spent a fair bit of time on stuff that isn't being legislated that had a relation to "the purpose" of C21, but at the same time, didn't, they admitted to that.
Sport shooters & collectors shud not be given any breaks, they don't matter. They tried to avoid the discussion on the CFAC panel and what it could/would do down the road, politicians tried to as well for the most part.
Nobody discussed the receiver definitions, brief mention, steered away PDQ.

Looks like the Monday meeting was a long one, Tony Bernardo and a few others are in the other vid, Inuit & FN reps are interesting. I gather this vid is from a later in the day session, interviewing an Inuit rep and a Kahnawake rep. Kahnawake rep is a little different to listen to, she understands the ins and outs of testimony, what to say and when not to.

Runkle occasionally comes up with the odd jewel, this is one of them. La Presse committed a few crimes to do an article on guns;

Today's edition of the SECD hearings, police reps, CACP, Que & Montreal police, Vcr Police, BC RCMP, CBSA union rep.
You'll never hear a police admin say more laws are a bad thing, I understand their POV. They are all very careful to keep to the Liberal line.
Their position towards ghost guns isn't out of line for their interests. CBSA rep says nothing has changed at the border, nothing new since he blew the whistle 2 yrs ago in Parliament.

Today's SECD hearing, statisticians who have lousy stats, discussion on gathering data not being gathered and any given values to what is gathered.

Today's edition of the SECD meetings---clause by clause--they can add, modify or delete any clause they want here, here's where you'll see the independent senators turn Liberal.

Wed 11/29 edition of SECD clause by clause, I would expect it's more of the same. Was nice to see Plett calling out the Libs and QC and NDP on their hypocrisy last one, probably more of the same this time. Trudope wants this done before Xmas break, vote is scheduled for Mon Dec 4, and they couldn't get any suggested amendments approved, votes were like 10-4, 9-5, even with indigineous consultation clause amendments. Almost every vote was passed "on division", Cons against, everyone else, for. Amendments were all done on recorded votes as per PLett's request, which says who voted for or against.

Final meeting of the SECD concerning C21, it now goes to the Senate to be debated and passed in 3rd reading. I believe the Senate can still possibly amend some things, not 100% sure of that. HOwever, with the "independent" Senators being bought by the Libs, it will probably pass thru the Senate unaltered,, which may occur before Xmas break, can't see it hitting the HOC again til after Xmas, if it can clear the Senate before then, but, pretty sure debate will be very limited on it.

The beginning of third reading in the Senate. The gov't rep for the committee is Youssef, which is bad enough, but the smokescreen he is setting up is pretty thick. Bulk of the debate is on Boisvenu's motion to add an amendment about indigineous consultation, to make it required, and a report on it issued to Parliament, when making regulations. Basically the gov't is representing the attitude, take it to court, we don't want to discuss it, let the courts decide it.
This is a tough one to listen to.

Been flying around for about 3 days now, but, this is the best shareable thing I've seen on the business buyback that the gov't is circulating this last week, they've mailed registration forms for it;

That's absolutely terrifying.

Especially the fact that the businesses hired to do the dirty work remain anonymous.

Dark times indeed.

I don't expect any company in Canada will have anything to do with confiscation. It is destined to be an expensive failure, and would be business suicide. There isn't any way they remain anonymous.

The government is grasping at straws, and is trying to find someone to figure out how to fix their problem for 30 pieces of silver. Amnesty extended again, 5 and a half years since the ban. There are no police agencies who will do this. So.

It's never going to happen. This useless government is all about making Big Announcements, but has no competency at executing anything.

When all the Reserves have clean water, maybe I'll worry, but really, all they have done in 8 years is legalize weed, and double the debt (while making liberal friends rich).

Some company, probably from Quebec will likely sign on, then they can cry to Ottawa for a bailout if it costs them business when people find out they are involved.

Apparently they have a new tender out now for someone to run the program, applicants & winner will remain anonymous this time, according to CCFR, guess we'll need a spy on that account. See if we can kibosh that one too.

It's not out of the question some new company owned by a Liberal donor or MP gets a fat contract and makes book on it (like Bayliss did on the ventilator deal) but to actually successfully design and execute a confiscation program? Not a hope. Voluntary compliance is the only way anything happens, and the longer it drags on, the smaller that pool of folks gets.

It will likely end up like New Zealand, very low compliance, and no follow up to try and seize the remaining firearms, because any type of massive search and seizure won't work , and will cost a fortune, and take years to complete.

Watched a mini podcast from Sen Pamela Wallin yesterday, with the Sask CFO, he told her compliance would be a huge issue, due to tha handgun inheritence situation, collections and stuff will go underground and they'll have no idea where to look for them, criminals won't have to import guns from the US.

Just to make folk aware, if sending a gun thru Cda post, there may be inspections coming on parcels that are specifically looking for them. Person will have to read this bill I suppose and try to figure out what regulations stem from it. Keep an eye on policies at Cda Post next year;

𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝟔𝟖,𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐠𝐮𝐧𝐬 𝐬𝐞𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬-𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐥 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝟒 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬: 𝐂𝐁𝐒𝐀
“A Canada Border Services Agency Report said that just over 68,000 guns were seized by federal agents in cross-border mail between 2018 and 2022. The report, which put the total at 68,338 guns, was the first to date to identify the scope of gun smuggling.”
Not mentioned in the report was an estimate in the number of illicit guns making their way into Canada by train or by boat.
Customs and Immigration Union President Mark Weber told the Senate of Canada, during recent testimony on Bill C-21, that due to financial and personnel restrictions, Canada only inspects approximately 0-1% of all imported shipments via rail or marine across waterways.
https://twitter.com/CCFR_CCDAF/statu...04544952229920
On June 6, the Senate gave Second Reading to Bill S-256 — An Act to Amend the Canada Post Corporation Act — to allow police to intercept suspicious parcels in transit.
“Traffickers have spread the word that there is much less risk of their packages being intercepted if they send them through Canada Post rather than through any other private courier company such as
FedEx, UPS, Purolator or DHL,” Sénateur Claude Carignan, who sponsored Bill S-256, told the Senate earlier.
“This bill will finally close the loophole that traffickers have been exploiting in the Canada Post Corporation Act. This loophole, which only applies to items sent by Canada Post and not through other courier companies, means that traffickers prefer to do business with Canada Post.”

This made me smile 32-40, thanks for posting this!
I have a feeling more and more gun ranges in Canada are going to face issues like this going forward, "the woke" don't rest.....!

Well looks like C-21 has been passed by the Senate and set to become law. There wasn't any doubt anyway with the Turd still in power but there are some gullible people in this country. The fact that the Turd still is the PM speaks volumes. Only god knows how much damage he can still do until the next election.

Apparently the company is no longer interested in participating in the program now, that didn't take long;
