Default HUNG LIKE A TROUT 2014! March 7-9!

Hung Like A Trout 2014 is set for March 7-9, 2014!

Its in Cold Lake Alberta. I think there is really one way on and off the ice.

There is no entry fee but shirts are $15 Bux each
There will be prizes.

For those of you staying with us over night on the ice, you are responsible for your shelter, clothing, food and drink. If you are drinking, remember, be responsible.

We are all here to have fun. So don't be *****. Clean up after yourselves. There will be some stoves and tables but depending on the on the number people you may want to bring your own.

The plan for us, Jeff Lin (viral_override) and Scott Bulat (willow trail) is we will be there on the early morning or night before the event to meet you.

We will have a sign out there so you can find us!

Anymore info, you can call me at 780-902-8257 or Scott at 780-905-3989. PM us, email us, txt us, whateves!

This event is gonna be awesome, come one come all!

Did I miss anything Scott?

Pretty much sums it up. We'll set up somewhere a km or so from the PP and send some texts to our location and put it in this thread.

You can fish near us and we have a community or head off on your own and set up near us for a night fish.

THIS IS NOT A DERBY.

We catch and release or keep for lunch or supper, all regulations are followed.

We have a makeshift bathroom setup for use and a cooking area as stated.

Jeff and I are going out Friday early and start fishing as soon as we get there. We're going this weekend to test out a few spots that aren't anybody's honey holes so we can share the location.

The last 2 years have been a blast and it only gets better. I'll post links to last years 2 threads later.

I don't see what you're getting at here...

Is it a makeshift bathroom or something?

I'd really like to make it this year, I've been meaning to try Cold Lake for years. Not sure of my work schedule yet but hopefully I can make it, sounds like a good time.

We're testing out a spot right now. Slow night and day so far. Marking them on the bottom but they don't seem too interested. We're in 86' of water. 2 lakers and a burbot so far.

Lost a few but sure enjoying it out here.

Got first one last night 5 minutes in.

It's open to all. Just let viral or I know you're coming and being $15 to get a shirt.

We'll tell you where we are and have a sign up and come join the festivities.

Less than 2 weeks away from the big weekend. A few guys are heading up late Thursday after work and then a bunch Friday morning and then some Friday after work.

You don't need much for this trip if you're thinking of coming. We sleep on the ice or you can go get a hotel if you choose. Bring your tent, auger (if you don't have one, we do), sleeping bag and pillow. Med to med heavy rod, summer spinning/bait casting reels, 20lb braid and some 20lb fluoro. Whatever food and drink you want and something to cook on if you have.

We will be bringing stove and BBQ but it's looking to be around 30-40 people so it will be hard to cook without some more gear.

Bring bait - anchovies, herring, minnows, smelts.
Lures - tube jigs, buck tails, spoons

Fun, bring your sense of humor because we all have a blast on this trip.

Let me know if you're still in or if you can't make it now. I've been keeping a list and will update once I get some replies. I'll post the location after this weekend and we can all meet there. You can set up near us or take off to wherever you want if you have a spot you want to try and come setup again to sleep around te group.

Viral is keeping the shirts a secret. They're better than last year from what I'm told. More time was put into them and we got mooseknuckle to make them for us. We're not making any money off of them. He's charging is cost, he's doing us all a favor.

I haven't even seen them yet. I'll see them Friday morning for the first time.
