Got miss frustration out to the range and nearly have the sizing issue figured out (I hope).
Loaded up some Nosler BT in my Sako .222 and sighted in at 300 yds... for a 50 year old rifle she sure does shoot.

My new ammo cases (I bought two of them to start.) They hold 220 rounds of .308 bolt face cases.
This one has 6.5CM in it.
Thanks Shane.

Mounted a couple scopes 4.5x16 (Sightron S2) on the wife's and my CZ Varmint .22 rifles.
Did a bit of 100 yard test group shooting. It was windy and the best 10 shot groups were about an 1.5", not great but not terrible. The ammo was also terribly inconsistent considering the day before I shot 2, <1" groups with the same two lots of (Eley) ammo. It was hotter out might be the difference??
Also wanted to see if we have enough scope travel left to go out to 300 yards, sometime in the future, which I believe we do.

Adjusted a M77 trigger and bedding and installed a recoil pad for an AO friend
Then I went to the range and sent some 105's down to 500 meters in a gale force wind!

So I came into a bunch of once fired Federal .38 special cases recently. These had factory +p loads and were in nickel plated cases. I came into these really cheap. I have always known the longevity of nickel plated cases to be much shorter then brass.
I noticed when I was sizing them for the first time, that the case walls seemed thicker then brass cases. Over all, the sizing and seating went without any issues. I use Lee carbide dies and I do lightly lube the cases before F. L. sizing them. I proceeded to load them with a fairly light load of 4.4gr of TiteGroup with regular small pistol primers and Campro 125gr FCP/TC bullets. Nothing special here.
Yesterday, I was out with both of my revolvers and I fired a hundred rounds in each gun.
After I de-capped and wet tumbled them, I went to size them again. Out of the two hundred cases, I had 11 failures (I hadn’t noticed them after firing at the range).
Here’s a picture of the worst one…
The primer pockets are still tight. But what you see above is pretty typical of how these straight walled cases fail. I knew they would fail. I just didn’t think it would happen so fast.
Oh well..at least they were inexpensive (read: cheap).

6.5x55
Built a box of shells for my Swedish Mausers, flushing out 3 possible good loads. 44.6 grs, 45.8 grs, and 46.4 grs of IMR 4831, behind Sierra 130 gr tgc bullets. I'll test these on Tuesday.

Just set up and tried the Frankfort Arsenal universal seating die.
First impressions are positive.
Their coaxial press might be my next addition.

Bounced over to a buddy's place and annealed 100 brass in about the same time it would take to decap them!
He has one of those fancy induction machines.
One thing we found after weighing a bunch of my Hornady brass is that it is very accurate in the weight department!

primers
Wondering on thoughts about using Magnum primers in 6.5 Creed. I never even considered it until i started loading with this Staball powder. I have noticed when i tap a case on bench i see burnt flake shapes of powder...not ignited totally and more or less flamed. weird cuz it's a ball powder. Not just tiny specs , and not every case by no means but it's very noticeable in the odd case. I read a fellows similar experience on a forum and one guy said if you use ball powder use magnum primers....???? i have always loaded H4350 before this Win Staball and never seen residue like this. I keep powder in a dry and cool place.

What did you do
Loaded up some 130 grain Hornady SST’s for my .270 win. 60.0 grains of H4831. Pretty standard load, but she puts them almost in the same hole.

I've spent a pile of time at the bench the past 3 days, 12-15 hours. Annealed and full prep on 150 6x47 Rem brass, loaded up a test batch of some bullets I'm trying - 64gr Killer Bees. Also some tinkering on a few other rifles.

Today I lowered the trigger pull pressure, on my Interarms Mark X in 3006, from over 5 lbs to 2 lbs. also free floated the barrel.

Pulled some bullets because of FTF at the range thinking I was a dolt and forgot powder- NOPE! EVERY DUD WAS FROM A BOX OF WINCHESTER PRIMERS!
I had some previously loaded ammo with CCI's with no issues

Between ruptures, and fail to fire, I do not use Winchester primers.
As for my session in the loading room , another 600 rounds of 410 skeet loads.

Spent the last few days at the bench prepping brass & building test loads.
750 rounds of new brass consisted of:
200 Lapua for the 22-250
100 Lapua for the 260 Rem.
100 Lapua for the 308
100 Remington for the 22-250
250 Nosler for the 204 Ruger.
Was really impressed with the Lapua. Very consistent in length, so only ran the necks over the expander ball and did a light chamfer.
Expected to do a full prep on the Remington brass and that's what they got. Full size, trim to length, flash hole debur, mouth chamfer in & out.
The Nosler length was within reasonable tolerance so only ran the necks over the expander ball and chamfered the mouth, also had to debur the flash hole. What did surprise/disappoint me a bit was out of the bag of 250 there were 7 culls due to manufacturing flaws, neck splits & mouth deformities. There were no extra cases in the bag, whereas Lapua threw in 2 extra per 100 and even the Remington bag had a couple extra.
First experience with Lapua brass and will be more of it on my bench in the future.
After the new brass I prepped some once-fired. 150 Remington for the 30-06 and 115 Hornady for the 270.
Then built some test loads for the 260 Rem. and 308 Win.
For the 260 I'm trying Barnes 120 TTSX in front of IMR 4451 and Nosler 130 Accubond with H4350. For the 308 it's Speer 150 HotCor with Varget and Speer 165 Gr. Slams with Varget.
Oh, also gave 3 rifles a thorough cleaning.
