Newell Ice Shack Torched

Quaded out to fish where the huge shack had been siitting to discover its burned remains on the ice close to the east shore. Guessing we'll never know who torched it on the weekend .Either way it was a shame as there was a lot of material and time wasted needlessly.

Wholey crap! If that was a vandal that did that, hopefully they give that vandal piece of trash a very hefty fine and put it on his or her criminal record permanently.

Maybe it was too big to move, too deep into the ice to recover. The owner could've burnt it down to save most of it getting eaten by the lake.

I doubt it was vandals/vigilantes maybe.No the shack was not mine.Yes there is a good possibility that because of its size it could not be dragged onto shore so the owners torched it themselves.It was brought down prefabbed from Calgary on a trailer and then erected on site. It was huge and I should have taken pictures of it.

i doubt the vandels did it...but they may have i think the reason is its too big to cary for them and they had to burn it down cause they had no other ways of moving it or hauling it

Thats a shame they torched it, I think it would have looked good on the island. If Id known they were going to burn it Id have stripped it even just for the material. What a waste.
