Default Goals for 2018

So in keeping with theme of this site, what are your goals as an Alberta Outdoorsmen?
For me one I couldn’t seal the deal on last year was catching a laker on a fly rod from shore in Southern Alberta over 20lbs, so it’ll be going on this years list, had a break off and one spit the hook last year, and ones under.
Next is attempting to reach out 1000 yds with the ol’ Sendero.
I think it would be very interesting to hear what some of the older gentleman on here who have pretty much done everything have planned for 2018, let her rip!

Mine won’t be in 2018 cus in still working overseas for a year yet, but for 2019..
I’d like to break my 2015 record of 46 days of hunting, and maybe a bull elk off our land, and a better whitetail than last year,
And he was pretty good.

I’d like to get into coyote hunting and put some more time in at the lake for fishing!

I think more fishing, camping and hiking. Got alittle bogged down in work last year between my girl and myself, we only got a few good trips in vs the usual 3 or 4 week long vacations plus long weekends during the summer/spring/fall.

It's been a bad month with burying 3 people and one of them was unexpected.

Life can be too short.

Goals;
1. Continue to maintain strong family pastimes of shared indoor/outdoor activities.
2. Continue to maintain solid friendships, good personal habits of eating, exercise and some mental stimulation.
3. Whatever it takes to stay out of the graveyard....

I’m stuck running the big leg (6) of the Sinister 7 Ultra.

31k

1400m elevation gain

1400m loss

At night

http://www.sinister7.com/elevation.php

We’re running as a family unit only. So my 15 an 13 year old need to be trained up.

I’m getting older.... training is harder.

I want to be able to do it in under 5hours....... so I don’t suck.

Keep on slowing down and enjoying the great out doors...no sense rushing the journey.

Man that is crazy, did the beast at Suns peak, elevation climbing, running obstacles was tuff enough let alone running in the dark.
Good luck.

Spending more time with the family...my son has been working with me for a over a year now and that's working out really well for both of us. He and I are going to West Palm Beach in April, and my daughter is flying in from MN to join us. Going to do the Barrett Jackson auction there, and booked a two day offshore charter (Bucket List items). Going to see what the fishing is like on the right side of the map....Also want to do another road trip with the Mrs. in the little black car, go do a wine tour in the Okanagan. If I have time to go look for a spring bear, that would be fun too.

Well, my kid got his first big game animal last season(a beauty bull moose), our first try at Archery too. That was fun being his guide while we chased Bullwinkle for 2 full months. So I better get me a bow as I can draw the same tag this year so, why not

More fishing, camping and getting out to see the uncles and aunts that are getting older. Just do more.

My goal for 2018 is to rebuild my reloading station after developing my basement. Seeing my rock chucker in a box pains me greatly.
