Default Farm plates?

Same website notes the benefit is 9 cents per liter for qualified uses. It is also exempt from the carbon tax so there is another 6.73 cents a liter benefit.

No.
To claim the fuel against the farm income, the fuel must be used on or for the farm.
But we can used dyed fuel for non-farm related travel.

I never really paid to much attention to our cost of fuel. Imo it's all relative. You need it you buy it. I believe we get the gst back and possibly $0.05 per liter rebate. This was for gas. I could be wrong in my accounting. A couple years diesel had better rebates ( can't remember what it was called affc?) .

Here's another FYI about marked farm fuel;

A rancher customer of mine bought a new 2017 duramax 1 ton deck truck this spring. At 20,000 km the thing went into limp mode and had to be towed into the dealership. Turns out the truck needed new lift pump, injector pump and all new injectors, about a $12000 touch. The dealership then rejects the warranty claims because the rancher had been burning marked farm fuel claiming the dye in the fuel is what caused the problem. Turns out the workaround with the marked fuel is a special fuel treatment that you're supposed to use everytime you fuel up and keep a written record of. Problem is no one bothered to tell him of this small fact when he took delivery of the truck.

He is somewhat torqued at GM and dealership at the moment. He'll get something done about it, he's kinda of a wealthy influential bugger and he couldn't care less how much it gonna cost him to get this rectified.

I have heard of this in the past but thought it was BS. I always figured I would sit out front with a sign in my duramax saying something. To the effect about ask me why my truck won’t start....I imagine enough farmers seeing that would change there tune real quick. The die in marked fuel does nothing to engine components. Period.

I'm not a fan of the purple dye. It can gum up injectors.

Dear old Nutley made road tax 13 cents a litre from 9 cents.
Turdeaus cut is 13 cents a litre if my memory serves me right.
Yes there is the 7 cents a litre Carbon Tax.
It adds up quickly.

Hasn't been purple for a long time. Like over 30 years.

It is just not all purple, depends who you get it from, but some marked fuel is absolutely still purple. I have also seen green. But this week, still purple.

And it does not gum injectors.

Don't know about it humming up the injectors. Sounds like a stretch to me. If million dollar cats run on it I'm sure it'll work just fine in my Cummins Fargo. It has in the past anyway with any diesel or gas engine I've had.

I have close to 700k on 2 duramaxs with no fuel issues that aware of. Use decent fuel treatment every 3rd tank or so. Have put 300 k on 2 350tbi's as well.
My "purple" is reddish and has been forever, gas too.
