Default Sait ?

I just heard from our son that every employee at SAIT got a letter saying that if they quit that they would get an attractive termination settlement.

This sounds hard to believe but my source is reliable.

Any one else have any information, like what is going on?

Thx.

Why would you get a termination settlement when you quit?

Quit is wrong wording. Voluntary layoff so they don’t have to choose. Or so I would think. This was offered to staff at Future Shop near the end too.

Typically offered as an incentive to quit...ie with teachers where it takes 11 years to get the top rate. Mr. experience is earning $100,000/yr in salary and benefits. Give him $50,000 to quit and hire a newbie replacement for $50,000. Over the 10 years it takes the newbie to move up the grid to $100,000, a lot of $ are saved.

Yup exactly this. Plus both Nait/Sait really manned up during the last money run. I’m sure with the more distance programs and such they’re probably a little heavily in the office depth!
