new barrel makes it new again...

New barrel on the 7mm-08, still playing with load development, so far 4 different loads with great results. Bullet is ELDm 162 grains, powders are Varget and IMR 4350.
26 inch barrel, average speed 2600-2650fps
barrel from Jury, gunsmith work by ATRS
stock: Bell & Carson
scope: Vortex PST
rings and base: ATRS

target grid is 1/2 inch squares, all targets are 5 shots from prone with front bipod and rear sock

the original barrel was ok (sporter contour), but was overheating too quickly, and started to show signs of age....
For the type of shooting I do, up to 600m and the occasional 1000m from prone or various supports I am very happy with the rifle.

My 30/06 Remington Long range will soon be in my hands, then my Ruger Sporster is going to see a Jury barrel very soon.

I chatted with him a few months ago about another project.
