Default Maligne on Labour day weekend

Heading up there and was wondering how the fishing is this time of year. Do I have to paddle far, are the fish way deep etc. What's the chance of getting a campsite? Thanx.

Wish I could help, but I'm gonna be there for the first time that same weekend.
I was told early mornings are best at this time of year. The guy I'm going with
has a freighter canoe with electric motor & trolls streamers on a sinking fly line.
I'll be watching this thread this week; maybe we'll both learn a few things.
Good luck; hopefully the fish cooperate for us!
Later,
Steve

Fishing on Maligne has been slow(typical for this time of year), but I've had the best luck at the very far end, where Warren Creek enters the lake. Call the Jasper National Park trail office to reserve your campsite.

i have been doing great on maligne lately. it takes a lot more effort to put up good numbers in august, this side of three mile. but it is still easy money if you have paid your dues.

see ya' on the weekend
