go to fish creek park north entrance off of bow bottom trail. Fish at bankside or burnsmead. first left turn off into fish creek. or continue on through the park to the end of the road. This area has a boat launch. some trails and a long section of deep slow water. Pretty slow anyways. That park has some great fish and with a spin rod you should have no problem casting.
