What's your recipe to take the edge off a bad head cold
I haven't taken a sick day in over 3 years, but this head cold has really set in, and I'm looking at today and tomorrow off if nothing improves. My father in law swears by a hot tottie with an aspirin chaser.
Just wondering what others do to minimize the sinus/nasal/sore throat symptoms. Post your cure, and I promise I'll try it and report back

Eat lots of garlic, vitamin c, and echinacea these should help boost your immune system.
Hot water with honey will help with your sore throat. You can also gargle salt water before bed.
One of the weirder things I've tried is sleeping with an cut onion by the bed.(Make sure your closet doors are closed) It seemed to work but it just may have been a coincidence.

Take the "cure"
Thoroughly clean out your bathroom sink and then fill it with hot but not scalding water.Pour in a table spoon of vinnegar and mix it in.Let that rest until it is ok heat wise...you dont want to burn yourself. When it is ready cup your hands and dip in...snort it up your snot locker and snort it out and repeat a few times.Does it hurt?HELL YEAH it hurts....this makes a Slurpee burn feel pleasant by comparison...but it sure cleans you out.
This home remedy is not for wussies. It sounds crazy but it works.
15 years for me and going strong and not 1 single workday lost to a cold/flu.

Sit in front of the TV and sip on Jagermeister until bedtime.
Throw a glass of water into the mix once and a while to keep your fluids up.
I think I feel a cold coming on...

Get a very small ( 1 mm?) syringe. Use warm salty water 1 tsp salt to 1 cup of water. Maybe more salt. Fill up syringe and spray up your nostril. Let drain and repeat as needed. It works great. To clear things out.

Whiskey. Drink until you can't feel feelings anymore.
A hot toddy works well. Seriously
2 ounces whiskey
1 tablespoon honey
4 ounces hot water
1 teaspoon lemon juice (the stuff in the plastic lemon)
Drink and repeat until sleepy ...

Not for head cold-but worth a try
From Merry Olde England spring some mighty strange sore throat remedies. One–which was actually used widely until the 20th century–called for wrapping your own dirty socks around your throat. Our guess? Since sore throats are so contagious, and in the olden days a signal of potentially lethal diseases, the dirty socks were used to keep loved ones as far away as possible from the patient. But that’s just a guess. Another English treatment involved wrapping bacon around the throat before bedtime. Finally, we couldn’t resist passing along this Irish gem: To heal a sore throat, simply apply salt herring to the soles of the feet.

Ok, so far I'm liking the Hunter1602 remedy. I found some Marker's Mark I forgot we had. Mixed with honey and warm lemon water and a liquid Nyquil Chaser (my own addition), and I think I'll be able to sleep through the night. If not, I'll try adding Wasabi and death pepper sauce (and snort through the sinuses) to the mix tomorrow! Good night all....

Anti inflammatory (Ibeprofen), lots of liquid (Chicken soup with a good dash of cayenne helps clear the sinuses) and rest, lots of rest.

The hottest chicken saté pho that I can find, accompanied by a large quantity of kleenex or napkins.

Capsicum seems to be a common cure. Go hard, ghost pepper, little bit of pain is better than days or weeks of suffering

This without the honey, hot water and lemon juice and double up on the whiskey..
About 4 oz of Forty Creek on ice. Sip and let it trickle down your throat. So soothing. Repeat as necessary.

A cup of lemon neo citron with 1 1/2 oz vodka.
Sleep like a rock and you will sweat like you are in a sauna.

This is what I did 1hr ago. 5 drops of oregano oil, full clove of raw garlic. Ate right after each other. Then had a whole whack of homemade hot sauce( my buddy make) makes u steam. Super hot bath for 20 mins, now rubbing Vicks on feet chest and neck. I'll sweat like a pig do to bath. Now off to bed, hope it works and good luck.
