I haven't had one bad beer from Grizzly Paw.

But my favourites are the Wheat Ale and the Red Stag Ale, but I have drank my fair share of Powder Hound

I may have to try that, thanks!

Also, when I was down South I went to this Mexican place that served the most incredible seafood I have ever had, not being a fan of spicy food but this was amazing, shrimp and taters and peppers and mussels with 2 giant pieces of bread, ice cold Bud and Clam in a can was the perfect mix.

You should take the brewery tour. The guides are great lots of testing. Around 18 bucks to go and you leave with a six pack. Also the pops they make are good as well.

I've tried many different brews from all around the world, and try to try something new on a fairly regular basis. That being said one of my all time favorites is still Guinness.

She’s a Pilsner evening. 18 twisted tea for $38 or $30 pills for the same. I like Pilsner but only in moderation. If I plan on getting tanked I go to Molson dry. A nice clean hangover 😁

When I "Drink for effect", whatever's on sale. Have tried enough IPAs that most of them taste the same and are over-hopped anyway.(for me). Our local jar store has lots of varieties and I tend to try them all. I still like Guinness, Moretti, Stella, Dos Equis, Beck's .............

Thumbs up Hooligan Pilsner

Up until about a month ago, I was never a big fan of pilsner beers. All that changed when I tried 'Hooligan Pilsner',
made by the Nelson Brewing Company, in Nelson BC.

Give it a try!

Thumbs up Innis & Gunn

I moved away from Calgary over a year ago, so I can't say for sure now. When I was living there, Innis & Gunn could be found at most of the larger liquor stores in Calgary (Real Canadian/SuperStore, Co-op, etc.). I'll bet most of them still carry it, but best to call around.

I remember Real Canadian/SuperStore as being best for price.

I found a Scotch Ale in Montana that's got no equal, Cold Smoke from Kettlehouse brewing. I've been making the trip down a couple times a year to restock.

Stayed in Fort Peck for a night this summer. Bought some offsales from the marina and the locals recommended I grab a 6er of that Cold Smoke. Also grabbed a growler of some kind of amber from Busted Knuckle up the road in Glasgow. Enjoyed both that night on the banks of the Missouri and the next night under The Devils Tower. Dang I need to get back there...

As for local brews I'm gaining People Skills right now. Golden Gaetz is also awesome:happy0180

Finally I drove back to the abbey, through France so I could eat and drink a little on the way and they were open.

The abbey has a restaurant where they serve home made Hanm, home made cheese, on homemade bread with their beer. One of the finest meals I've ever had, simple but perfection in every item. At 12% I could only have one beer and still be able to drive but I could have had more....many more. When you go to the restaurant you can buy a six pack of beer, my wife and I each got one of course and treated each bottle like treasure.

I have a bunch of the Westvleteren 12 and a handful of the 8 in my basement right now - special occasion only. I spent some time this past spring working in Brussels so I made the trip out to the abbey (In de Vrede) a few times. I packed those bottles with so much care for the journey home and didn't lose a single one. Seriously good beer

Co-op Liquor stores have them. They have a rum cask and original and I may have seen an IPA or lager but didn't try them (I only ever have a few beers a year at home so it takes a while to try new ones). I've found the original one my favorite.

I use http://liquorconnect.com

It shows what stores have ordered what product recently. It doesn't tell if it's in stock but at least you know if they carry something.

Oh, they're are so many. My favorite to date is Granville Island's Winter Ale. So good. The Tree Brewery Vertical is a good competitor. But out of the seasonals, my go to is Okanagan Springs IPA.

Was just going to mention the Winter Ale by Granville Island Brewing. Even before I made my way to Alberta, I'd been very impressed with most of Big Rock's offerings, but being an ale lover, the Traditional Ale is amazing, never disappoints.

Other great amber and brown ales I've enjoyed lately:

Yukon Red - Amber Ale
Dead Frog - Winter Beeracle

A guilty pleasure of mine all summer long was the Shocktop sampler pack (found 2 different varieties, one had a cranberry white ale) with the usual Belgian white ale, a grapefruit radler and a green apple white ale. I'm not big on fruit in beer but both the radler and green apple are amazing, even my FIL who is an admitted beer snob, couldn't believe how good they both were.
