Default Back on the SSR

My lady and myself decided to give the newly working boat a good run today, headed down the river . Anyone putting in at Cottonwood take waders, had to back way out to get the boat off, definitely changing my exhaust next year, I get nervous when its way under water
It was pretty cool on the ride down the river, and getting very very shallow, but it was sure fun make sure you have polarized glasses if you go, the channels are getting pretty small in some places. We fished my favourite spot down that way for a couple or three hours, not too much happening besides a couple little walters. Moved to a different location and hit fish as soon as the wind came on and the walleye chop started. More Golden eagles around too, they sure are awesome birds.

nice little sauger, still wondering why I had never caught one til this year, and seem to get them most outings now.

nice 7 pounder. great fight on the steelhead rod.

24 incher

fat 27 incher

and saved the best for last. we decided to head home when the wind started to get stronger, but it was a great day. back at it tomorrow

Default and the best of the day

Took my aquaview along today, saw a decent walleye come and check it out when I put it to the bottom, then saw a sturgeon tail as it swam by, closest I got to one today unfortunately, frikkin overgrown perch kept stealing my bait.

last one is ok, Ive caught bigger but not by too much, (so far) but I was looking for dinos, these just keep me occupied while Im waiting Its funny how they can bite so lightly for their size, I know we missed a lot because of the wind today too.

Only the skin, fins, eyes and dead eggs of game fish may be used as bait, provided these fish were lawfully caught by angling. also you can use salmon eggs. just my thoughts, if its the parts listed I dont see why not, but Im not F and W I use sucker strips myself.

Would be unreal to see that Wayne... When I first came to Canada in Saskatoon ,Saskatchewan they were pilot project for Peregrine Falcon breeding program, had a couple nesting pairs on TD building and Radisson Hotel( was Ramada then) and you could sit by the river and watch them dive bomb for pigeons mid air. Was unreal to watch and you could watch for hours was awesome...

one of the bonuses of fishing down here is watching falcons and now the golden eagles patrolling the cliffs along the river trying to spook up a pigeon dinner. lots of wild pigeons nest along the cliffs.
