Default North sask. river

Hey guys just wondering if anyone would be willing to lend a bit of knowledge about the north sask in the Edmonton area. I used the search function and got zero threads (probably a glitch as I find that hard to believe). I ve read about hermitage park but I'm looking to go somewhere a little less crowded. Ill do the exploring myself but I'm just wondering a) what I can expect to hook into b)what are some popular lures/techniques and c) is this worth my time lol
I've never fished a body of water like this so it's completely new territory for me. Any and all advice would be hugely appreciated so I can finally enjoy this gem

Try the devon bridge...use a rod holder in the ground with a pickerel rig with either worms or minnows and a bell for the tip of your rod and just wait for a bite

some quick answers ....
a... you can expect to catch walleye, goldeye, suckers, burbot and pike. been a lot of sturgeon caught this year also.
b...most common method is a pic.rig with minnows, worms or leeches. jigs work also with black, white, green or orange rubber tails. you can use whatever system you want however including fly rod.
c...only you can decide if it's worth your time. personally i love popping down to the river for a couple hours almost every day.

I think a sturgeon would snap my cheap Zebco rod lol! Might be time to upgrade anyways. I'm gonna go down tonight and hopefully learn a think or two! Do spinners or spoons produce decent results?

Yes.... we are catching goldeye non stop on small spinners in the Fort Sask area. Walleyes are responding nice to black soft plastics and crank baits as well.
