Don't get me wrong you can still catch some fish there but its nowhere near what it was. I have been fishing Turtle my entire life every year and the results of increased pressure and stagnate limits are truly starting to show.
When I was younger we could always count on good fishing almost anytime, but nowadays I hardly go out in the summer unless its the middle of the week.
The boat traffic is retarded. Used to be good uninhabited beaches all over, but not anymore there's just frickin houses (not cabins) everywhere. And now there's people subdividing pieces of crap pasture for people to build on.
All I'm saying is don't be disappointed if all you catch is a few small pike, and sometimes the walleyes bite. The walleyes used to be just awesome until a few years ago and then the indians netted the **** out of the lake and they have never recovered. Really wish the limits would get lowered.
But on the upside the water level is super high again this year, so easy boat launching.
Good Luck
