Research it now so you know what you want. Buy in the winter or late fall if what you require is available. That's my 2 cents. Had a buddy buy twice as he didn't follow that mantra and walked in blind as the lake was calling.

After the new year.....

I looked around all summer and into the fall last year. Wasn't in a rush.

If your good at negotiating they are desperate for sales at that time of year.

I got my boat for 45% off in January compared to the price it was listed for in August the previous year. They are also wanting to get rid of the previouses years stock at the time of year to get ready for spring/summer which is even better for the Buyer.

Take your time...and stick to what you want to pay. It may take leaving the dealership a few times but they always call you back....

End of the year buying the left over models. The only problem is you can't be a picky with options as the choices will be limited.

Buy when you want to go boating!
Now is the best time, you can go out for a water trial. In winter that is pretty tough.
If you buy end of year and sit it outside all winter that isn't great, or leave it at the dealer all winter same thing.
If you don't want to go now I would look at buying in the spring when the dealers are wanting to get rid of last years inventory.
There are several good weeks left, plus if you get it now you will find all the possible bugs in the unit that you might not see until next summer, then of course you are at the mercy of the dealer to get it in and looked at.

Buying something like a boat requires a lot of market research to obtain a good deal. Know your market and there's excellent deals year round. Don't count out spring either. Lots of guys dumping boats to get a new one or newer one. Patience and research are your friends

Don't buy one two late where you can't test it in the water

Best time to sell one is after it has sit still for a season that you never got to use it and are tired of putting money into it.
