Exclamation ****Tips and tricks for the Bow River*****

Hi there Anynoe visiting this thread I'm happy that i just figured out how to post a new thread But anyway this is all that i ask from this thread: Does any one know any good spinners, flys, crankbaits or any sort of lure and type of fishing that works well on the bow, I ask this because i've been watching the shows about fishing reading the books about fishing, cleaning my rods, line and lures, and morning over the fact that i cannot go fishing in the sheep river till june 26 But a well I don't care what my dad says I am going to kick his but out the door one these days of the long weekened and say "Start the truck were going fishing" so any facts will help

Both fly fishing and spin fishing can catch you fish on the Bow, but I think the fly fishing catches more fish. The fly that I use most often on the Bow is the plain old San Juan Worm.

Some of the bow is closed I believe but fish creek park has seen some risers yesterday. I dunno why but I feel im the brunt of some awful joke when people brag up the san juan worm. I have yet to catch a fish on the bow with one. Maybe it's my presentation and/or depth of the fly.

Skinny 3 inch crankbaits that look like the fish you are trying to catch (small brookies and browns)

Biggest brown I ever yanked out of the bow. Caught on a Nuclear worm during Stampede week, 25.5". Pretty standard method, indicator and worm, slaughtered them back in the day on that presentation.

Royal Coachman fly tipped with a maggot ( where your allowe) = Whitefish all day long. Bounce it down the current above a couple of split shots and your money.

Wait a second. We're using MARTIANS now to cath fish! Pretty sure I read somewhere in the regs using martians as bait is strictly prohibited. U didn't kill Marvin did you!!

LOL! I remember that harhar. Don't fret lil arch, we forgive you lol, or at least I do. Pretty ridonkulous how sometimes people can get butchered on this forum for making a mistake. Lotsa perfect people on here. It's happened to plenty of fisherfolk on here, including myself.
Important thing is we learn from our errors and move on, like you have. That's what this forum is for right? To learn. And hopefully become educated and informed as to different styles/tactics when fishing.
Cheers n GL all
