Tannery in Alberta??
Hi!
Is there a good tannery in Alberta for pelts? We have been giving ours to the local taxidermist who ships them off to B.C. somewhere, I think. Not sure if that is the most economical route, however. Thanks!!

Haven't used them for nearly 20 years but the Hutterite Colony down by Cardston was tanning almost anything at that time.

That was Raley Colony, but SRD shut them down a few years back for environmental reasons, dont believe they are back in operation yet.. maybe some of our Cardston members could clarify for us.

If you want the best, I suggest Dale at Skyline Fur Dressers in Didsbury.
Western Fur Tannery in Edmonton is another option.

Thank you, guys. We will likely take Mr. Badger to Skyline...More convenient for us and cheaper as well.

Janet Costa from the Cowly area makes deer/elk skin gloves. It's been a couple of years since I have seen her, but I imagine she is still doing it, and likely selling at the Millarville Market. Great quality and prices.
She will make custom fit gloves, just needs an outline of your hand.
I had her make moose/buffalo skin Welding gloves for me. Fantastic!
