So your saying, a little west of Edmonton. Thanks.
Looks like we should be able to walk on a lot of smaller lakes and ponds by weekend. Im headind out in a week or two for some trout, then it will be perch time.

Remember... as I relearned today... ice thickness depends not only on temp... what I stepped through today was thin because of snow cover.

Some crazy fellow was fishing the bay in front of launch at chickakoo at some point today. Ice was ~2.5 inches close to shore, I wasn't crazy enough to venture out to see thickness further out.
Be careful guys, no point becoming a statistic. Ice might be good this weekend but next is a much safer bet.

We'll found some ice didn't find the feesh. Went to two stocked lakes bigger one had 2 1/2" of clear ice and the smaller one had 4" both taken in about 4' to 5' of water.
That being said stay safe guys and gals carry a stick and ice picks and avoid fishing water past chest height until ice is safer.
Set up jawjackers but no luck

It's been thirty below for the past three nights here and the high yesterday was -26 in Manning. Today it got up to a balmy -14.

Lake Sundance in Calgary just froze over 1/3 yesterday. Likely will be fully frozen over today or tomorrow.

Any reports on the prairie reservoirs in the south? Newell, Travers, Badger, Mcgregor?

Remember to fish with a friend and each carry a throw rope. Ice can vary up to 80% in isolated pockets.
Be safe.
