Depends on the lake. I walked out 100 feet on cooking lake this morning when I attempted a duck hunt. ...

I believe it will be the end of the month before I attempt to drill a hole! Not soon enough for me, I want to hard water it up right now!

Already seen ice on 2 lakes and that was last weekend... Ice thick enough to walk on I am not sure.

Im heading out the weekend of the 15th to a couple smaller trout holes out by white court. We'll see what the ice is like up there.

Walking out from the deer blind and looking at the ice over on the ponds, had me thinking ilk be walking out fornsone pond trout in 3 weeks. Step kids are super excited. And once able to drive on..... the missus has asked tonjoin in on the perch fun.

Chain lakes has a thin layer closer to shore, middle is open. Spray lakes has a thicker layer closer to shore then thins out to the deep blue.

Heard clear lake has a thing layer almost all the way out.

The lake we are on had a thin layer out 100 feet in spots. The wind picked up yesterday and took care of that though.

Default Sylvan Ice

Sylvan was mainly foggy we have/had approx. 15 feet of ice on the south shore this afternoon with 2-3 foot white caps pounding the pier. Current conditions -16.1°C Wind NNW 21 gust 32 km/h -26C Wind Chill .... we'll have some thin ice by the weekend .... will post a few pics later in the week.

At 5 A.M. Leaving for work this morning it was Minus -35 Celsius ,

Pretty dam sure there will be ice on the pond !

I went out to a local trout pond this afternoon. There is definitely a layer of ice on there - about an inch. I'm 280lbs and walked around the shore. Only if I started jumping around would the ice break. I'll check back again on the weekend.
