Default Ram Falls area

Good morning,

Planning on heading out tomorrow morning to get some camping and fishing in. I wanted to cut through Caroline and head towards Ram Falls.

Has anyone been out this way recently? We plan on loading up the trailer and heading out. Usually we camp west of Cremona, this will be my first time out this way. Any advice would be appreciated

lots of nice streams in the area, unforetunatly most of them are closed till June 16th. there are a few open like the Clearwater, Fallentimber, Prairie Little Red Deer and Red Deer River that are worth checking out. but with the forecast for rain this weekend and runoff happening, most of the rivers are going to be mud.
lots of little pothole lakes that are worth trying out also in the area.

What lakes would you suggest?

Maybe not a good idea to head out with the trailer on the FTR with the rain in the forecast?

like previous poster said, Peppers lake is good, but best fished with a float tube. Elk Creek pond is a fun little pond on side of FTR by Peppers lake that is also pretty fun and easy to shore fish.

Elk Creek is also open and can be a pretty fun little creek to fish. easy to walk and wade also.
the FTR is a pretty decent road even wet, just take your time and slow down for corners and hills and you will be fine. you will be muddy but fine to travel.

still lots of choices in the area, just have to check the regs to see what is open and what is closed as of now.

Thanks for all the help! I hope it doesn't rain too much. A weekend away is still better than a weekend in town!

Thanks again!

Just got back from a motorcycle ride up the FTR from Caroline to Nordegg.
Road is in great shape, a few campers and a few people pre-fishing Elk Creek, Hummingbird. I would head out!

If they are pre-fishing Hummingbird, they are poaching.
