Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Spring have aeraters in it somewhere? Can anyone confirm the status of Spring Lake (aka Edmonton Beach; aka Cottage Lake).

Thanks
when i lived up there the lake was aerated. i can't see them changing that. the edmonton fly fishing club ran out of there as well.

If there's one lake that winterkilled, all of the other lakes in the area would be winterkilled too. This one lake being Devils(Matchewaw) lake with all of the springs.

Aerators in spring were remove in winter of 06-07 to try to winter kill perch and then replaced in 07-08 far as I know still there

I don't know much about how aerators work. In a lake like Spring that is fairly shallow would they only help oxygen levels immediately around the aerators? Maybe the majority of the lake winterkills but the aerators ensure some survivors??

My visit to lake isle says that it may be in a bad way. There was a lite green alge floating and suspended throughout the water. Many locations and didn't get anything, not even a signal out of the sonar. The lake is only going to be good for watersports. I went to devils lake and not much better but after several hours i did get a walleye. So matchayaw is not dead, but not active. Sonar did find something but not many. Fished at chickacoo and did get several bites and did land several, about 7. Its not doing so bad, but they only were biting on worms, nothing else was working. Tried cheese marshmellows, trout bait, rubber worms small and large also fake maggots.
