Stettler Trappers Rendezvous

This is a call to all Trappers and Outdoorsman looking for a good show, great food and lots of Trapping know how. I look after the Ultimate Trapping Competition which is a fun and entertaining part to every rendezvous now.

Where: Stettler, at the Recreation Center
When: Friday July 20th, Sat July 21st

Why come? -
1. See one the fastest Beaver Skinners I have ever witnessed (Jackie or Dennis) Both have rough skinned "blanket" Beavers in under 2.25 minutes.

2. Watch the Ultimate Trappers competion with fun events like the Dryland Snowshoe Race (Trappers pack a Coyote or Beaver on thier back during this race) Other fun events include the Fire Starting event, which comes with 3 matches, an axe and a piece of wood.

3. Pig Roast.. Friday night!

4. Excellent band (Loose Change) on Saturday night

5. Trapping demo's include Bobcat/Lynx sets, Otter trapping, Power Snaring Demo, Mink / 'Rat water sets, Canine sets, Beaver sets

6. Wolf Trapping secrets with Gordy Klassen

7. Beer Hour

8. Large Silent Auction, Live Auction

9. Trade Show with over 20 booths of Trapping supplies, outdoor gear, etc.

10. Ultimate Trapping events that show case individual sets, and the methods are described by the contestants and judges back to the crowd. Learn with the viewing crowd on how other trappers make their canine sets, mink sets.

12. Fur Handling Competition

Thanks Gary for the ATA convention update, Yes there will be some top notch trappers putting on demo's, I know Rance Curtis will be demonstrating his favorite Beaver set, Ken Hildebrand will be showing his Killer Wolf set, among others. Lots of good knowledge to be gained here, The Ultimate Trapper event should be a blast again this year.

Always a blast and I wouldn't miss it. We just finished a piece "The Wolverine Project" for the ATA and the ACA. An 8 minute HD vignette on wolverines. I'm bringing copies for ACA and they're using as give aways for any trapper who completes a survey. I think trappers will enjoy the story. See you there.
