Default Bassano Dam

Am not familiar with the Bassano area, as for I live in Cochrane. What species of fish could I find at the dam? Also, what time of year is preferred for the area,

Thanks,

All kinds of suckers, goldeye and I bet prussian carp made it up there as well.

When you’re thinking Bow you’re likely thinking of the Calgary area trout waters. Farther southeast there are a pile of sturgeon in the Bow.

Below Bassano the Bow has anything and everything so be prepared. Trout, pike, walleye, sturg, mooneyes, suckers, burbs, perch and probably missed a few in there too. Watch the regs as they change from there downstream too. Not as restrictive as upstream.

Bassano is decent for walleye if you find the right spot. But there are tons of goldeye to weed through. if you at all are having a bad day just find a still pool and toss a small piece of worm under a small bobber and you'll load up on carp
