Hello. My husband is currently a resident trapper and has some questions about buying a trapline. He knows that he needs to become a junior trapper but isn't to sure how about becoming one?? Are the regulations of owning a trapline the same in all provinces and territories?
He doesn't need to become a junior partner. He can just buy a trapline from somebody that has one for sale. Transfer takes up to 2 months though so it would be best to do it in the off season. There are a few for sale in the ATA magazine. Hope this helps

X2 has he writen the trapping exam? if so he should have no prob getting one
Much will depend on the F&W officer in the region of the trapline you intend to buy. If he deems you to not have enough experience, he can ask you to Junior for a year before allowing the sale to go through. Just make sure that you are approved before handing over any money.
