What seems to be the problem with the wire you are getting ?. I've not had any that I would call crap...

I got a bad batch last year from Halford's. It had small lumpy imperfections and the lay was terrible. I am using it, but hate it. Yes, there is bad batches. Marty Sennecker supposedly sells 'good' wire, and I'm going to give him a try next batch I buy. I don't know what the price comparisons are, but if it is good wire, then the frustration level goes way down.

Where you at northern, I have an old roll laying around here somewhere.
If I can find it that is. Should I go looking for it?

We buy 1000' rolls from Continental Chain in Edmonton. Any wire rope dealer would have some. You could buy it over the phone and have it sent by Greyhound. As for bad cable, we've never had any. Good luck.

Default Thanks for the help!

Thanks for all the info. By bad I mean coming unraveled when cut and one wire seems to be on the outside of the others and they do not fire properly. Some of it does not make a nice loop and takes a lot of extra effort. Thanks for the offer Keg River but I think I will try Continental Chain and pick up 1000 ft. While I have your attention I was wondering if anyone has had multiple catches on Wolves and if so how many. I had a pack of 10 come through and I picked up 7 in one set. It was a good day! The most I ever caught before was 2.

Good Job on those wolves, HH...You certainly made it a much happier Christmas for some of our other furried friends. Just curious, your wire wasn't over cooked in the soda was it, that might cause it to loose some of it's characteristics/memory. Bad cutters doesn't help either, just a thought....

No---I was talking about bad right off the roll. I had some last year from Halford's that was just great. I guess I got spoiled because I haven't found anything even close this year.
