Default What GPS are you using on your trap line ?

What GPS r u using on your line? I'm looking at getting one for mine as I have a groomed trail close by and a lot of sled traffic by some of my sets , so I'm thinking if I use a GPS instead of ribbon to mark my sets the less chance for some weekend warrior to mess with my sets

I'd like to get a program as well so that I can transfer my waypoints on to a map and print it.

Your input wanted. Thanks

I use an Garmin Etrex Vista just for this very problem. I simply drop a waypoint at each set and snare although snares should still be physically marked somehow as the GPS will only get you so close. When I check sets I watch my GPS and check off each set on a notepad to amke sure I get them all. Once I check the line a couple of times I usually remember anyways but a good dump of snow can change the looks of the landscape in a hurry. I have never done any mapping however nor do I know how to do it.

I use a Garmin 62s. It was a little work but I got a areial photo of the trapline from the foresty company that manages the area. The short story is I imported the photo on to my GPS it has all the cut lines, clear cut and the trapline boundry on it. I also use Ozi-explorer(map program) to manage my traps and which ones caught what.
