Two days before a 49yr old hiker from San Diego spent 8 minutes taking pictures of a grizz at 50 yards before the grizz killed him.

Winner, winner, chicken dinner!! Darwin award right there. Talk about poking a bear with a stick, and poking, and poking, and poking, .....

FAIRBANKS, Alaska -- A college student from Seattle survived a bear attack over the weekend in Alaska.
Twenty-year-old Julia Stafford was bitten on the hand by a grizzly bear while working for a Canadian mining company collecting rock samples near Paxson.

Stafford and a male co-worker encountered the bear in a foggy ravine. She says the bear walked out of the fog and it had two cubs.
Stafford said they tried to walk away but the bear started walking toward them. Stafford said they got in the crouching position, and when they stopped to get out their bear spray it was on them.
"It started running towards us and then jumped on us," Stafford told KTVF/KTUU. "He bit me by the hand."

She says the bear focused on her. She was dragged about 20 feet but then the bear let her go and ran off.
