Strubel Lake near Rocky was between 6" to 6-1/2" this morning. Appeared to be some flood water on the east side of lake close to shore.

Birch lake had about 6 inches on the North end by the entrance. Caught a couple 13"ers in about 16' of water. Was only there for a couple hours. Nothing biting for me in closer to shore.

Ice report baptist lake an island lake Alberta
Was at both lakes today. Island lake was only 3 inches of ice. It's not safe yet. Baptist lake is good for walk on 6 inch of ice 50 feet out from shore. Didn't fish wanted perch from island lake but it's not safe yet.

Fished Dolberg yesterday. A few guys were set up around the boat launch and just north of it. We went south towards the 'bay'. Ice was 11" thick.

2014-12-06: Twin Valley Reservoir - ice thickness varied from 5 to 8".
Not many bites from the pike, but managed to find a keeper.

Chestimere
Tried Chestimere today for a few hours. No bites in 3 hours of fishing, but lots of ice. At least 10". Tons of snowmobilers and quadders doing donuts and burn outs. Was actually making waves under the ice and water kept rising up and out of the hole. The water was extremely murky, Im guessing from waves.

We're expecting some very mild weather this week day and night...it'll melt a lot of the snow, hopefully we get a real cold snap after to freeze it all up!

From my experience on Chestermere, the water is always murky waves or no waves. I don't even bother bringing my camera out there any more. I have fished it for years and never had more than 12" of visibility.

Buck lake has about 8 inches of ice. 3 inches of slush once you open up a hole.

Pcr today had 6" of good ice. Big heave 30-40 yards out from the boat launch/dock about 2 feet high with a 4 foot collapse on the other side filled with water.
Fished from 1:00 - 7:30 from 6-23feet and not a single fish

Did you eat it? How'd it taste? Last time I fished the lake the water didn't smell right ever since they drained the sesspool the government created in highriver into the channel.

Was out Dec 9 and anywhere from 5-8" also. Lots of melt water collecting on top and fishing very slow.

Boyle area, 6-8" ice. lots of flood water. Very difficut for sleds and quads. You may get stuck with the flood water. Even walking, 4" + flood water. With the melt this week, would recomend staying off untill it freezes again. Walking in water/slush most of the time. We need 30 degrees below again for a week! Take your high top rubber boots.

west side of twin today had pockets of thinner ice with 4 inches of water, other spots were white ice and a bit thicker but inconsistent. east side had varying ice between 6 and 4 inches with areas of about 3 inches, with very clear gorgeous ice but a half inch of water atop, so clear you could sight fish. McGregor was fishable but the gap at the north dam was open considerably, but fishing near the launch more accessible. if this warm and dry wind keeps going for two more weeks as predicted I would recommend bringing a long rod just in case. if you are new to ice fishing, now is the time to see how ice forms and how odd it can be within yards.

Any new reports for the potholes west of Edmonton? I'm thinking of heading out this weekend, but don't want to go if it is unsafe with the recent warm weather or miserable with snow melt.
Thanks!

Would just like to say that I think it's great to get reports on conditions at a lot of the lakes.
Keep them coming, as conditions are always changing.
