Default Ministers Elk Tag

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=kHYYH5SBo28

Looks like this is the auctioned Ministers Elk tag for last year. He mentioned a couple interesting things. Says there will be a Moose and Antelope tag as well for 2022. Any validity to that?

That’s what I thought. Not a whole bunch of fluff and smoke blowing.

So this guy got the Alberta Minister's tag...How many tickets did he buy?

https://markvpeterson.com/

Please, if you think I am paranoid, tell me...

So this guy gets the Alberta draw, and magically gets to hunt about 10 miles away where the number one Pope and Young got shot last year. Which is near Vegreville ( I believe and correct me if I'm wrong).

Do us peasants have a chance with these tags?

I don't know about this...please prove me wrong...

He bought the auction tag. He was the highest bidder.

He purchased it at auction. Then hired an outfitter.

Yes, you have a chance at that tag, in the resident's raffle.

Good Bull, not much of an Elk hunt though.I wonder what bullet he used in his rifle.Seems like the elk was hit well enough, but never went down until the follow up shot.

What's interesting about this video is that he shot an elk early December in a zone near vegreville. "10 miles from the record bull" as he states.

Correct me if I am wrong, but there is no zone close to that ars that has a December antlered Elk season. Also, in the ministers tag description no zone close to there is valid for December 1-31 for a bull....

Yes we do.. my wife won the resident elk tag this year. Tickets were A birthday present for me but she put her name down when she purchased them. She had shot a rifle once in her life before this , never killed anything. Turned out to be the best thing that happened.... my turn next year, hahaha

How did your wife’s hunt turn out? I’m sure everyone would love to hear about it/ see some pictures!

I spoke to the guy who received the resident bighorn tag. Just a normal dude, purchased a handful of tickets and he was able to take his first ram. Sounds like he had a great experience!

Good story. My buddy put himself and the wife in on a LEH Roosevelt couple of years back. She had only hunted small game. Obviously she wins the draw and decides she doesn't want to harvest an elk.

Now they are divorced- probably not just the Roosevelt but.....

They didn't auction either with elk, mule, and sheep at wsf. Other than that, I haven't heard of it happening.

They have never had an antelope or moose tag yet
Not sure of the point
No one wants to promote the raffle and no one wants to buy the tickets

The raffles tickets haven't gone on sale yet, just the auction tags have been sold.

But sure if the prices are online or not still. Sheep was 235 000, mule 29 000, elk 27 000, from memory.
