Thumbs up First fish on a fly rod!!!!!

Hey Guys,
This is my first year fly fishing - I had been out about a half dozen times before this. I changed flies a few times before getting her on a cone head wooly bugger (I saved it). Water was super clear so I saw it rise and take it, I had missed on one a few casts' earlier but got the set right the second time!

It was a wild feeling on the fly rod I am addicted for sure! btw just trying my luck with some cool photo enhancing skills it's no secret spot just an Upper Lake cutty! It was also exactly 12 weeks since I broke both my tibia and fibula and got 6 screws and one plate added.

Many people wont catch a fish that nice as their first fish on a fly. Very nice work. That lake sure is a special place!

excellent. welcome to the obsession. wait till you encounter your first hatch happening and you convince your quarry to eat your bug over the naturals. enjoy and keep posting your pics.

@JaredAnderson - I figured at least a couple of us there had to have been AO members. Glad you guys made it down the hill and off that path when you did! (that bear looked big)

@Dace I'm looking forward to it! I drool over your fish/posts all the time.

Not sure where they saw one but I saw a Momma Grizz and her 2 cubs walking near the pipeline at interlakes about a week and a half ago.

We saw a single grizzly walking through the tree lines up by the interlakes. It was walking through the path.

No cubs with it.

Well done!

That just proves that it's easy to get hooked on flyfishing... about 15 years ago
a friend talked me into going fly fishing with him to the Bow, caught 21 fish on that day, the rest is history and haven't gone bait fishing since!!
