Default Carburn Park

Did the pond in Carburn Park completely winter kill?

My niece is staying with us this weekend and I thought it might be fun for her to catch a pike.

Thanks

Not sure if it was total kill Ray, F&W doesn't seem to think so. I think fishing would be very tough at best. A little further drive to Chestemere but I think if you went to the south end where the canal comes in you may get your niece that pike. Good Luck!

I highly doubt it total winter killed. but what i have been wondering is did both ponds kill? I highly doubt that the last pond killed at all. It is connected to the bow and I see fish swim in and out of that pond. the water would be highly oxygenated. Much more so than the first pond giving it a much better chance at surviving winter kill

Thanks for the input. I think I will take her to Chestemere first and if she is keen I might give Carburn a try.

I was down a Carburn Park on the weekend, try for a few hours with out even a bite but some times it can hard pickings early in the year but I'm sure it hasn't been cleared out I saw some folks get the odd perch, just wasn't my day. It might be worth the try.
