winefred lake lodge feedback
Does anyone know about this place? I have a friend who wants to head up there for a few days. Prices seem ok but know nothing about the lodge or its fishing. Anyone with info on other places that you think are good please post..

I used to fish Winefred quite a bit but that was about 15 years ago. It used to be amazing fishing with some real monsters in it. Not sure about now though, lots of the lakes i used to fish aren't what they used to be. We never stayed in the lodge so no info on that. Sorry

Great lodge with great people. Try fishing on the west side of banana island in about 14-18' of water, lots of nice walleye 4-8lbs.

great price
when I looked into the lodge last year it was $600 a night for a cabin that sleeps Four people. That seems outrages to me but maybe somethings changed.

WInnifred used to be good, still is alright I guess if you dont want to travel all that far. If it was me, I'd be heading to northern sask instead of Winnifred.

If you get bored of catching pike and walleye. You can go for Lake Trout at Grist lake. It's is a 10 minute drive away, and you can rent boats, cabins, etc, there.

619 a night for a cabin that sleeps 6, that includes the rental of 2 boats. We have 4 guys going so thats about 154/day for each guy. With cabin and boat thats not a bad deal at all.

I am from Sask born and raised. Fished up north many times, some wonderful fishing to be had. Will do a fly in trip this fall Sask may be an option.

I did the full meal deal with 3 other guys 2 years ago. They go every year, so basically we had 2 rooms, 2 queen size beds, rooms clean as a whistle,
all meals included, breakfasts were smorg, lots of bacon and pancakes , lunches were always a little foofoo for me but not bad, and supper was a 5 course meal, awesome. They will also cook up one of your Pike if you like, nicely done! Rooms were very tidy, great hospitality. We got 2 boats, every morning it would be out waiting for us, clean as a whistle, everytime you brought it in, left everything in it, handed over the rope and when we came back after a meal, it was clean as a whistle and gased up and off we go. Gear stayed in boat all 3 1/2 days fishing, 3 nights and I think we all paid $525 each. It was a good deal for everything inclusive. WE put allot of hours on the lake, caught a ton of fish. Some big walleye, and a good 8 pike over 20 pounds and lots in the teens. on light tackle it was a hoot. worth the price of admission. Actually going to go back up this year. mid june'ish is usually pretty good fishin. Last year the gents went 4 days and they said it was one day too long, so back up for 3 this year

Nice Walleye. We have a cabin book June 18 - 20 Cant wait to get up there and try our luck. Is that a sonar unit in the boat? Was that standard gear with the rental?
