Default Driving To Mission Highway 3 Or 1

We are driving to Mission for the first time. We have 2 days, what's the best route. Google maps says from Taber it's just over 15 hours on the #1 and over 12 hours on the #3.

check out DriveBC Traffic Cams for route information.
Summer Road Work came early.
Hwy1 prolly the faster route
Even if your route map says otherwise.

X2 on checking the Drive BC site, but between highway 1/3 if I had the time I’d take the 3 everyday just because it is quieter. Hwy 1 is always busy during the summer months. Quickest way for Albertans to make it to the Shuswap and Okanagan.

If you have 2 day's take 3 and hit some fruit stands. Think Castlegar still has a working wind mill for milling grains, pretty cool tour.

3 is definitely the more entertaining drive. I take it every time.

Hwy 3 is nice. Not bad for construction and lots of cool places to check out. The mine tour in Blairmore in the crowsnest is good. Lots of fruit stands and former gold mines along the road. For construction theres some by Moyie between Cranbrook and Creston but its pretty quick.

They're both nice drives. The biggest difference is between the Coquihalla and the Fraser canyon. The coquihalla saves a little bit of time, but if you've never driven out that way, you're REALLY missing out if you don't take the #1.
I grew up around there, have driven it many, many times. I still take the Canyon over the Coq whenever time allows. Enjoy the fishing Dale!
