Who shoots a Mannlicher Schoenauer?
I would love to see pics, and hear your thoughts on the rifles, and the changes they made through the years. Also any Info on finding mounts, or peep sights for them.
I have a 1961 MC carbine in 30-06, with tang safety, coming, should be here Wednesday. It looks to be in very good shape, apparently its all original except for butt pad, even has the sight hood! I'm excited to get my hands on it, and cycle that action, and see how it shoots.
Until then I would like to live vicariously through you ladies and gents!

I've only ever shot thee older ones, nothing new.
I've owned three 6.5X54's, and one 8X56, all were fantastically accurate and smooth, and all were great hunting rifles.

Mannlicher arrived yesterday!
It is a beautiful rifle. Very clean, Action is butter smooth, It is the Carbine with full length MC stock, I didn't think I would like the MC stock with iron sights but it is perfect. I'm defiantly not going to scope it, if a peep ever comes available I would jump on it though. I like the tang safety on it, rotary magazine is a beautiful thing. The recoil pad has already come off it, Now looking for a original or similar butt plate. if anyone has a lead on that let me know.

Here is one of mine, a Model 1908 in 8X56 MS from the early 1920's with it's original claw mounted Dialtyn 4X scope, Set Triggers.
Shoots very well, and with the so smooth action these Rifles were know for.
And I'm lucky enough to have 6 Boxes of the Original WESTERN 8X56MS Ammo from the 1930's still in pristine condition.

I also have a few Model 1903 Mannlicher Schoenauers in 6.5x54MS from the same early 1920's era, full length stocks, single triggers.
