You might want to poke around Burtstick Lake just north of Sundre. Lots of Crown land full of trails to walk if your alone and very easy to set up some quick pushes if you have another hunter or two. Happy Hunting!

Reason: No such thing as "crow land"

x2 what scotty said! Even if you drive a bit further to the swan lake road there is tons of crownland and cutlines! The only problem is there are tons of other hunters out there! P.S. this is the week of the rut.

No deer near Sundre. Best head to Morin for your best chances.

I spend a lot of time on crown land west of Sundre. Lots of trails etc to explore. There are a lot of road hunters but not much foot traffic if you like to walk. If you get into wmu417 does are open if you are looking for meat for the freezer. Good luck!

And the elk are all at one place, where she doesn't allow hunting.

Any titles to check on in the used book store?
And is this the lady that recently had a elk gutted on her drive way?

i went today about 10-15 mins west of sundre but I guess i was up too high on one of the well sit roads cause All i saw were Mules. First thing in the morning I had a small buck and a doe but forgot my rifle was sighted in at 200 and missed high. by the time i got another one chambered they were long gone. Went down back to hwy584? and on the way out I saw a group of whiteys but they were just in a field off the highway. Not sure if it was private land or not it was beside a well site laneway and they were boarding a fence to a bunch of cows so as i suck at shooting i didnt want to get in trouble for downing a bloody cow and not a deer. It was my first day out alone second time ever and even tho i saw a lot of animals elk and moose included and didnt hit my buck, I had a ton of fun and am hoping to head back out sunday. I was told that whiteys tend to stay a bit lower. Any tips on finding out if its private land or crown? there were no trespassing signs in the section the whiteys were in but being my first year i dont want to end it by getting in a ton of crap.

That would be the one.. I still can remember her teaching and preaching that book in school.
It's quite the little sanctuary she has there.

Does one still encounter the British Army west of Sundre running around in the hills, or is that a thing of the past?
