Dissaspointed that whitefish isn't open anymore and that maggots is taken away. Made for some great fishing and feasts at the pump house theatre area.

That's always been my biggest problem w/ the regs on the bow. Guys are keeping fish that "look" too big...but hard to tell from a ways away and you dont want to waste the C.O.'s time.

Report a poacher is going to become much easier.

Strange, fishermen rejoicing about the right to take a fish being taken away.
Have fish populations collapsed on the Bow? Trout Unlimited Canada's 2015 Brown trout red study concluded:
"Overall, it appears that redd counts on the Bow River within the City of Calgary have increased from
previous surveys, indicating either more suitable habitat within the study area, a larger population of
spawning Brown Trout, potential issues around survey design and design differences, and/or a
combination of the above mentioned factors. Subsequent annual surveys are planned by the BRC to
continue to collect trend through time data of Brown Trout use of spawning areas in the Bow River
within the City of Calgary."

I don't think it's strange that outdoorsmen want to protect such a special resource.
I think many would agree that with the amount of money we spend on fishing/hunting equipment, gas etc... it's more beneficial to buy a fish from the store as opposed to pulling one from the bow.
Personally, I'd rather catch a fish and safely turn it loose for another outdoorsman to enjoy, as opposed to 10 minutes of edible enjoyment.
Rights don't exist without resources.

For sporfishers, harvesting fish is a privilege, not a right.
