Default Pike Fishing Hook Recommendation

Hi,

I fish from shore, mainly on the NSR and was hoping to get some advice on with kind of hook to use when fishing for pike with a sardine/minnow and what size hook. Also, other than a pickeral rig what set up would be effective?

Thank You,

Hey There,

I fish the NSR regularly and if I'm using minnows, I'll use a drop shot rig with up to 2 baitholder hooks. Not sure on the actual sizes I use but they are large enough to hold the minnows. If I'm in more of a casting mood, I'll use a 3/8 jig head with a tail or spoons or spinners. I've had various success with all species (except Sturgeon) with all set ups.

Try a blue fox #2 Inline spinner had great success with this in the nsr. But for pike you can never go wrong with the 5 o'diamonds either. Regardless where your fishing

Good luck
